Being an American is a priveledge. At least that's what I think. Responsibilty comes with being American. We have many rights earned for us by our forefathers. Some people forget what it took to get where we are. I enjoy the right to keep and bear arms, but I know it takes responsibility to care for the safety in the use thereof. I know it's my responsibility to teach my child to be a gentleman, to be honorable, respectfull, productive, honest, hard working. I also know as Americans we can disagree with the President and not have to worry about getting locked up for it. I know that I can get in my car and just drive from one state to another without getting stopped to have my identification and purpose for travel questioned. I can go to the store and buy a dirtbike for my child and let him ride it in our yard. My family can eat whatever and whenever they want - and I have the responsibilty to make sure food is in the fridge. No one can stop me from working and providing for my family. I have the right to worship as I choose. Being American is all this and more. I love my country and will defend it till my last breath. And that is what Independence Day means to me - that's what being an American means to me. God bless America!!!
