A List of the 10 Commandments. Please feel free to distribute or display prominently at your place of business.
I am the Lord thy God ,
who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt (Mizrahim), out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt not have any other gods besides me
Thou shalt not make for thyself any graven image
(carved idol) or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; thou shalt not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, punishing the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those that hate me; but showing mercy to thousands of generations of those that love me, and keep my commandments.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain ;
for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.
Remember to keep holy the sabbath day ;
six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is a sabbath, that is, the rest of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not do any work therein, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy ox, nor thy ass, nor any of thy beasts, nor the stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest, even as thyself. Remember that thou also didst serve in Egypt, and the Lord thy God brought thee out from thence with a strong hand, and a stretched out arm. Therefore hath he commanded thee that thou shouldst observe the sabbath day.
Honour thy father and mother
that thy days be long in the land which the Lord gives thee.
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's (goods)
house or fields, nor his male or female slaves, nor his ox or ass, or anything that belongs to him.

I'm not really sure the general population "gets it" when it comes to this emminent domain issue. What happened last week with the supreme court allowing eminent domain to be used by a city is a farce. The city seized property in the name of eminent domain which by virtue of it operation should give this property to a governmental body to be used for the good of the community by way of creating a facility needed by the community. At least that's the way I've always understood eminent domain to work...it's not supposed to take a piece of distressed property which is privately owned and seize it by the government and then give it back to a private party. But this is exactly what has happened. The government took the property from a private entity and gave it to another private entity which promised a great TAX REVENUE TO THE GOVERNMENT THAT SEIZED THE PROPERTY. To me, this is the government stealing from the private sector to enrichen the value of another private entity. This, by operation of our own laws and rights is a violation of those very rights. Should I offer to double my property tax if my local government takes my neighbors property and donates it to me? Why not?

I suspect my favorite noon till 3pm talkshow host is under the influence of something today. I detect a slight slur in his speech.

Members of a House and Senate committee are recommending the Legislature ban so-called ``straight pipes'' on exhaust systems. These groups of assholes wouldn't know a straightpipe from a fuck stovepipe. Who's advising them about what it is they are recommending? Chicken fuck Little?? I'll tell you who is. It's the same people that are protecting the Spotted Owl and the fucking Bronx Millipede. These jackoffs don't like the sound so they complain. And since these complainers donate all their daddy's and grand-daddy's money to "the cause of protecting the environment" their stinking little voices get heard over the ever pleasant sound of a 1970 Shovelhead with a nice set of shorties. Fuck You.

Having written that let's discuss this - are some words just to harsh to be said publicly? I would suggest that in certain situations, some things are best left unsaid. Is it not true we correct our children for making statements in public that are unacceptable to our standards? Do we not choose what we will let our children listen to on the radio or watch on television? Why do we censor THEIR media? Because some things are better left unsaid and/or UNHEARD. As a child I was taught that when company was calling, children were to be seen and not heard. I still believe in this to a certain degree. So, if we are censoring what our children see, hear and repeat then would it not be that same logic that dictates what should be acceptable public speech? I had a chance to read a letter sent by my grandfather to a co-worker. The letter, hand written of the late 1800's with plume and parchment by today's standards was ridiculous. This letter was a request for work supplies. Of 10 sentences only 1 had the actual request for supplies. The other 9 sentences of this letter were gobbledeegook telling the guy how much he was appreciated and how respectful my grandpa was for the help. According to my mother this is the way things were done back then. If this is the case then I would think that in the 1800's and probably before that, people had a general concern to be as unoffensive in their speech as possible. With this in mind it only makes sense to once again reinforce the fact that the First Amendment is designed to protect our freedom of speech - but we need to watch what we say and where it is said. If I was to take you for a ride in Peabody's Wayback Machine and we could question those responsible for the First Amendment how many of you out there would think these people had exactly in mind what is going on today? Do you think they'd want to hear the language on television they would hear? That one race can call each other a vile name without reprecussions but if another race uses the same slang term there's a good chance a fight will ensue? That this word should be used at all? I truly believe in my mind that our forfathers had no intention whatsoever to protect the rights to burn the flag, riot, swear in public, and basically act like a fool whenever and whereever one wants.
Come on folks - let's clean up our act and stop looking for reasons to blame others for the state of the state.
